Summer skin treatment - here's an Asian secret


Taking care of your skin in the summer requires you to vary your regimen a little bit.  Here are some general tips for effectively summer skin care:
1 – eat more sour foods as these are high in natural vitamin C.  Try drinking a few slices of lemon in your water after you get up in the morning.  This natural vitamin C will help to reduce blemishes in your skin while flushing your system out.  The ‘sour’ flavour is also good for your circulation.  In addition to this, make an effort to eat more tomatoes throughout the day as they are also high in vitamin C and natural water.
 
2 – eat a spoonful of natural honey everyday in hot water.  This will help to clean out your digestive system and give your skin a natural smoothness.
3 – drink unsweetened soy milk products.  If possible, make this milk yourself using a juicer and soy beans.  If you need to sweeten it, consider doing so with your daily spoonful of honey.  This can also be drunk hot.  Soymilk is high in phytoestrogens, which help the smoothness of your skin and helps to reduce phlegm in your body.
4 – drink more water (but you already knew this!)
5 – don’t use overly oily facial moisturizers
For beautiful skin, be aware of the following:
1 – do not exposure your skin to the elements.  This includes sun, wind and extremely cold temperatures.  This also means not washing your face in overly hot nor cold water.
2 – before bed, you absolutely must remove your makeup and wash your face thoroughly (but gently!) and moisturize accordingly.
3 – do not go to the spa too often.  I know this probably goes against what you think, but spas often use products that are demanding of the skin and can cause the skin to thin out and become weak.  This will cause your skin to also become overly sensitive and easily irritated.
4 – avoid working in front of a computer for too many hours at a time (look at any computer programmer to see an example of why this is important!)
5 – do not smoke.  There is no mystery here.  Smoking causes the skin to age prematurely and dehydrates it considerably.
6 – use a high quality pillow when you sleep.  The interior should preferably be made of something natural and not synthetic (such as sponge).  Do not sleep with your face touching the pillow.  You should sleep on your back with your head held up like a princess.
