Having beautiful skin, hair and nails comes from the inside out. Here are a few traditional Chinese soups you can cook to help keep you looking radiant.
Soup #1 – Sweet potato, tomato, pear and waxberry beauty skin soup
If you don’t know what a ‘waxberry’ is, it is a tart little fruit that you can find in the imported section of most western grocers. They look like this:
How to make the soup
You will need:
1 large sweet potato, 1 large pear, 1 large tomato (or several cherry tomatoes), 2 cups of waxberries, natural honey
1 – peel off the sweet potato’s skin
2- boil a pot of water (perhaps around 4 cups of water), put the sweet potatoes in the boiling water for 15 minutes
3 – peel and dice the pear, after the sweet potato boils for 15 minutes add the pear and continue to boil for 5 minutes
4 – then add the tomatoes to the boiling water and continue to boil for 5 minutes
5 – finally, turn the heat way down, add your waxberries, and let stand for 5 more minues (covered)
6 – stir in a spoon of natural honey and you’re finished! (If you do not have natural honey, do not substitute with the processed kind.)
This soup is very sweet and will help get your blood moving. The tartness of the waxberries will also help tighten your skin. Enjoy! ^_^
